Opening title

The bourne ultimatum is of the triller genre and there is a lot of suspense in the film. It starts off with a chase scene and the music is really gripping and puts you on edge, this is something I hope to replicate in my opening sequence. It does a good job in creating mood and atmosphere and really does give the impression that the protaginist's life is in danger. There is a good vaiety of camera angles and they are effective in creating drama and tension. This is the type of thing that will influence my sequence as I hope to replicate the suspense and atmospheric lighting created in this sequence.

opening credits

We have considered some genres that we may wish to base our film on. We have considered doing an action film which will contain suspense and an element of the thriller genre. The opening sequence should set the whole tone for the film and leave the audience wanting more.
I have decided to analyze some opening sequences to see how the director has etablished genre, character, narrative, enigma, and suspense. these are the foundations for a good opening and analysing an opening sequence will help.

This is the opening from seven. There is a lot of mystery involoved and suspense is created. the audience if left wondering what the person in the scene is doing. the mood is immidiately created there is a dark atmosphere and gritty scenes. it looks as though the individual is commiting a crime and plotting something devious but the audience can only wonder.
